My friend used a Mobil 1 filter on his Z one time and when it was time to change the oil, he pulled the filter out, and the picky Z freak he is, he put his finger inside the filter against the metal screen and he felt metal shavings in the oil.
So he opened the filter and found out that the source of the metal shavings was the metal screen in the filter. It looks like when the machine stamped the metal sheet to make the holes, the cut was not very clean, and left rough edges around the holes, and many fine metal particles that came loose went into the oil.he was really mad, because he does not know what kind damage all these metal shaving has caused to his engine...so he called and wrote Mobil 1 to warn about that major problem, but of course they never replied to him. So just a warning for everyone, do not use anything, so critical to the proper function and safety of your car, that does not have the Nissan logo on it.
